‘He told me’: International boss suggests ‘terrific’ West Ham man will leave in January
Alexander Petrakov, the head coach of the Ukraine national football team, has hinted that Andriy Yarmolenko will leave West Ham United in the January transfer window.
The winger, who joined the Irons from Borussia Dortmund for £17.5 million in 2018 (), isn’t close to being a regular now. He has been given just 52 minutes of action in the Premier League so far this season, and that isn’t going to change in the coming weeks.
Yarmolenko is expected by many to move on in January. His international boss, Petrakov, was asked about the situation at West Ham and he suggested that the winger is looking forward to the upcoming transfer window.

Petrakov was quizzed by the national media about Yarmolenko’s lack of playing time at West Ham United. The Ukraine boss revealed what the talented winger told him about the situation.
He said, as per : “The coach (Moyes) does not use him. Andriy is a very serious person. When I asked him for the first time why he didn’t play in the club, he told me that there was a window ahead and he asked to play for U-23.
“A person with such experience is not shy and goes to play with the young. I can’t call Moyes in West Ham and ask why Andriy isn’t playing. It’s none of my business, I can’t interfere in club affairs.”

A lot was expected of Yarmolenko when he joined West Ham from Borussia Dortmund three-and-a-half years ago. He is extremely talented, nobody can deny that, but consistency has remained his biggest problem.
Jarrod Bowen’s arrival at West Ham and his incredible form has pushed the Ukrainian away from the squad. Moyes gives him an opportunity in the Europa League, but that’s not enough for Yarmolenko, who will want to play regularly as he enters the final few years of his career.
The 32-year-old, labelled as a player with ‘‘ by Moyes, will consider his options next month. Considering that his deal will expire in the summer, West Ham aren’t expected to stand in his way either, which should make a potential exit a fairly straightforward one in January.
