‘He told me’: £32,500-a-week Leeds man claims he spoke to teammate about leaving Elland Road

Helder Costa has revealed that he spoke to Rodrigo about leaving Leeds for Valencia, before his deadline day switch to La Liga.
What’s the story?
Well, the 27-year-old has moved to the Mestalla Stadium on a season-long loan, although he needed some help with his decision.
Speaking to , Costa said: “The first thing I did was talk to Rodrigo Moreno. He told me a lot of good things about the club and the city, and it was an easy decision. I’m happy to be here.”
The arrival of Dan James from Manchester United pushed Costa even further down Marcelo Bielsa’s pecking order, so he was definitely right to leave.
Additionally, the ex-Wolves man only started Premier League games last season, so he’s not exactly a vital player for Bielsa.
Leeds could’ve found a better loan for Helder Costa

Usually, loan deals are sanctioned to help improve a young player, or help a more senior player find some form and bump up their value.
In Costa’s case, it’s the latter.
However, Leeds could certainly have found more settled environments to send the Portuguese forward to.
As detail, Valencia and their fanbase are having huge problems with Peter Lim, owner of the Spanish side.

He has sold valuable assets – such as Dani Parejo – for peanuts during the pandemic, while staff members who were performing well received the sack.
Most recently, he terminated the contract of Kang-in Lee, one of the brightest prospects in La Liga.
Hopefully, Costa can still perform to the best of his ability in this hostile environment.
If he doesn’t, and Valencia decide not to activate their option to buy, Leeds will once again be stuck with a depreciating asset.
