‘He has an instinct in front of goal’… Joleon Lescott hails £30m attacker Spurs have been in talks over

Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs that have been linked with Roony Bardghji in recent months.

In December, claimed that Spurs have spoken to intermediaries about a potential move for the FC Copenhagen rising star.

However, Tottenham are not alone in their interest. The likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are apparently keen too.

On Tuesday, Bardghji was in the matchday squad for the Champions League last-16 first-leg meeting with Manchester City in the Danish capital.

Sadly, the 18-year-old didn’t get a chance on the pitch, remaining an unused substitute as the Citizens ran out 3-1 winners.

Nevertheless, Bardghji has certainly done enough to put his name out there, with TNT Sports’ pundits talking about him pre-match.

Joleon Lescott, for instance, spoke highly about the reported Tottenham target’s talent and confidence.

“He definitely has the belief and the quality to perform at this level,” Lescott said on the .

“I won’t be surprised if he’s gutted he’s not starting tonight as well. But I’m sure if he gets the opportunity he’ll relish it.”

“I think he has an instinct in front of goal, he recognises where the ball might fall.

“There are certain things that you can’t necessarily coach and to be that comfortable in front of goal at such a young age, he obviously believes in his ability.”

Tottenham target Roony Bardghji is an ‘extremely dangerous’ winger

Antonio Nusa’s name was previously doing the rounds on the Tottenham rumour mill, but he’s not the only 18-year-old attacking talent from Scandinavia that Spurs are apparently eyeing.

Despite being just 18 years of age, Bardghji has shown that he’s a cut above in the Danish top flight, hence links with the likes of Tottenham, Man United and Chelsea.

The Sweden Under-21 starlet registered 11 goals from 30 outings in all competitions last term, and 15 goals and one assist from 71 appearances for Copenhagen.

‘s Jacek Kulig published a scouting report on Bardghji in 2021 said his potential was a ‘world-class’ 10 out of 10 ‘.

Kulig also likened the left-footer to Lionel Messi and deemed him “extremely dangerous on the counter thanks to his electric pace and acceleration”.

Prior have suggested that Bardghji has a £30million price tag, so he wouldn’t be that expensive for Spurs. So let’s see how he fares until the summer and they maybe there’ll be some movement.
