‘He doesn’t suit Spurs’… Gabriel Agbonlahor tells £85,000-a-week player to leave Tottenham Hotspur in January
Gabriel Agbonlahor has given his verdict on speculation that Eric Dier could leave Tottenham Hotspur for Bayern Munich in the January transfer window.
The former Aston Villa striker and talkSPORT pundit has explained why Dier does not suit the way that Tottenham play under head coach Ange Postecoglou.
So, what has Gabriel Agbonlahor said about Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier? Let’s take a look.
Eric Dier told to leave Tottenham Hotspur
Well, Gabriel Agbonlahor has been speaking about Eric Dier. The former Aston Villa striker believes that the defender should leave Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.
The talkSPORT pundit has said that due to his lack of pace, Dier does not fit into the current Spurs set-up and believes that he should move to Bayern Munich.
Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has reported on Twitter that the 29-year-old defender has reached a total verbal agreement with Bayern. West Ham United have also been linked.

Agbonlahor said about Dier on : “I look at him and I feel like if a team is playing a certain type of football, maybe it will suit him at Bayern Munich, but the way Ange is going to play, he is the last option.
“Lack of pace with that high line. Imagine every week it will be, ‘Alright then, just make a run off Eric Dier and you can be one-on-one with the goalkeeper’.
“He doesn’t suit Spurs. He has had a decent career at Spurs and with England. Hopefully, at Bayern he can get a chance. Play some of the through balls he likes to play for Harry Kane.”
My View: Eric Dier should leave Tottenham Hotspur for Bayern Munich
In my opinion, Eric Dier should join Bayern Munich in the January transfer window. I do not think that there is any point in the defender staying at Tottenham Hotspur.
Dier is not getting playing time at Tottenham under head coach Ange Postecoglou. The £85,000-a-week () 29-year-old, who can also operate as a midfielder, has made one start and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Spurs so far this season.
Postecoglour clearly does not fancy Dier, who is at Tottenham at the end of the season. It would make sense for Spurs to just sell the Englishman and get some transfer fee.
