Fornals’ international return is coming after season for West Ham – even if Euro 2020 hopes come to nothing

Fornals really appears to have found his feet at the London Stadium this past season.

He struggled for consistency for much of his first 18 months with the Irons.

But he looks to have turned a corner. And with West Ham on the up, fans can surely expect more from Fornals.

That certainly suggests that a return to the international arena is coming. Remarkably, his last cap came back in 2018.

It may be that his role in the standby bubble comes to nothing. But he can certainly be optimistic that a return to the Spain side may not be far away – whatever happens with Euro 2020.
