‘He could’ve played NFL’: Teammate raves about Liverpool-linked £70m colossus
A player reportedly sought after by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been praised by his teammate, who revealed that he had offers to play in the NFL when he was younger.
Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Adama Traore is believed to be on the Reds manager’s radar, according to , who also claimed the 24-year-old has a £70million price tag.
Traore has shown massive improvement this season following his somewhat underwhelming maiden campaign at Molineux last term, going from someone who massively split opinion to a unanimous fan favourite.
This term, Traore has registered six goals and 10 assists in 40 games (), while his strength, pace and versatility have all contributed to the team shaking off their early-season issues to climb up the Premier League table and reach the last 16 of the Europa League.
Wolves captain Conor Coady was asked by just how good and strong Traore is, to which he replied: “He could’ve played NFL, he got offered when he was younger. He doesn’t do any gym on his arms or his upper body. It’s all power work on his legs to make him more powerful and explosive. He’s rapid, he’s some player.
“It’s credit to him, and how proud he can be of himself, he’s been fantastic for the team, you can see in his end product and the way he tracks back and defends properly and listens to the manager’s ideas and takes it on board. It’s credit to how hard he works, he’s one of the most hard-working players I’ve seen and it’s brilliant to have him at the club.”

At the start of the season, Wolves fans remained split over Traore, who had blown hot and cold for much of last season – exciting performances offset by frustrating displays which left supporters unsure where they stood with the player.
However, he has come such a long way under the tutelage of Nuno Espirito Santo that Liverpool, as well as Barcelona and Manchester City, have been linked with his services.
It’s unsurprising that Traore was offered to play American football, but their loss is football’s gain – and potentially for Anfield specifically, if reports are to be believed.
