‘He can’t get around’… Pundit says £70m Man Utd player looks so slow now

Manchester United were completely dominated by Manchester City on Sunday.

The Red Devils couldn’t get near their noisy neighbours, and the possession stats from that game make for grim reading if you’re a red.

Erik Ten Hag’s side just couldn’t get a foothold in the game, and that’s due to the fact their midfield was seemingly non-existent.

Kobbie Mainoo really shrunk in the spotlight on this occasion, while Casemiro was, as has often been the case lately, way off the pace.

Speaking on the , Keith Treacy has been discussing Casemiro’s performance against City, and he noted just how slow the Brazilian has been looking lately.

Casemiro looks very slow

Treacy spoke about the man.

“Casemiro, for me, he’s starting to look like Father Time is catching up to him. He’s not getting around, and maybe it’s because of the space they’re leaving it’s being really highlighted that he can’t get around, but at times he was playing as a centre-half against Man City and he was getting one-two’d by Phil Foden,” Treacy said.

Legs have gone

If there’s one thing no footballer ever wants to hear it’s that their legs have gone, but sadly, that looks to be the case for Casemiro now.

At the age of 32 and after over a decade of top level football, the Brazilian can no longer keep up with the game against these elite teams, and it’s costing United time after time.

The Red Devils really need to bolster their midfield this summer, and it may be time to either let Casemiro go or phase him out of the side.

Casemiro’s debut season for Manchester United was absolutely fantastic, but this year, he’s looked an absolute shell of himself.
