‘Can really perform’…Erik ten Hag seriously impressed by £85k-a-week Manchester United player v Luton

Manchester United picked up yet another win and Rasmus Hojlund another few goals as they saw off Luton Town today.

Hojlund’s early double ensured United had enough credit in the bank to hold off Luton, who came back into the game in spirited fashion through Carlton Morris’ goal.

The Red Devils are making a fist of trying to get into the Champions League places and with Tottenham losing this weekend, there is cause for optimism around Old Trafford now.

Of course, another cause for optimism is the form of He’s now scored in six consecutive games and looks like a striker in the form of his life.

And speaking about his striker after the game, Erik ten Hag admitted he knew he’d recruited a strong character when he signed him in the summer.

“We recruited him on his character, I knew it was strong. He can really perform under stress and that is something you need a Man United striker. He doesn’t get nervous or lose confidence. He has a lot of confidence and I’m sure he will score even more,” Ten Hag .

Hojlund looks the business

When you look at the form players in the Premier League right now you can’t really look much further than Rasmus Hojlund.

This is a young player who has found his feet in recent weeks and looks right on track to have a superb career as a Premier League striker.

There has been pressure on his shoulders all season but it does look like United have managed him well and brought him along into the first XI nicely.

Along with Alejandro Garnacho at the top of the pitch, United suddenly have a young and vibrant attack who can be a problem for any defence in the world.

The good thing for United and Ten Hag is that Hojlund will only go on and get better as well. And over the course of the next years, that is a huge plus for the Old Trafford club.
