Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira has claimed that Christian Benteke can easily score over 10 goals in the Premier League this season.

The Belgian, , has had a bright start to the campaign. He has scored three goals in his last six appearances, including two against Burnley in a 3-3 draw at Turf Moor just 10 days ago.

Benteke has four goals already this season and almost two-thirds of the season is still left to be played. He will be aiming to hit double digits in the Premier League, just like he did last campaign.

Vieira, who has stuck by him since the start of the season, believes he can do it ‘easily’.

Vieira: Benteke can easily score 10 goals

The Crystal Palace boss said ahead of Crystal Palace’s game against Leeds United, as per the : “I think I will be happy if he gets into double figures, I think he can do that easily

“I think it is a goal target and the assists that he can make.

“It is about the decision making, I think he can be better on his decision making and that will allow the team to play better and make more chances.”

It’s not beyond Benteke to score over 10 league goals in a single season, but he has struggled to consistently do that in Crystal Palace’s colours.

The Belgian, since joining Palace from Liverpool in 2016, has hit double figures just twice. He scored 15 goals in his debut season at Selhurst Park and he managed 10 in the Premier League last season.

He’s almost halfway there this term and considering how well Palace have been playing, there’s a very good chance he’ll achieve that.

However, it will be interesting to see if he can improve his decision making and create more chances for his side in the coming months, just as Vieira wants him to do.
