‘Has to step up’: After Richarlison, Sky pundit says £45m Tottenham player needs to improve now
Tottenham Hotspur are back to something close to their best.
Spurs started the season brilliantly under Ange Postecoglou before a real dip throughout November.
However, after four wins in their last five games, Spurs are back on track and looking good for a place in that top four.
Tottenham have been buoyed by the fact that Richarlison has found a bit of form recently, but with Heung-Min Son set to head to the Asian Cup in January, some of Spurs’ other attacking players need to step up.
Speaking on (31/12/23 1:30PM), Clinton Morrison has been discussing Tottenham’s attack in the absence of Heung-Min Son, and he says that Brennan Johnson has to step up in the same way Richarlison has as of late.

Johnson has to step up
Morrison shared his verdict on the player.
“Obviously, they miss Kulusevski, but he’ll be back and he’s been good for them. Brennan Johnson has to step up to the mark now, and Richarlison needs to keep scoring goals,” Morrison said.
Chance incoming
Johnson hasn’t quite delivered what was expected of him for Tottenham yet, but, at the same time, he’s not had a real run in the team.
Ange Postecoglou’s first-choice front three as of late has been Son, Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski, but, as we all know, that’s about to change.
Son’s trip to the Asian Cup will shake things up for Spurs in an attacking sense, and that should allow Johnson to get his first real uninterrupted run in the side.
The Welshman showed last season at Nottingham Forest that he can indeed score goals at this level, but, of course, making the same sort of splash at a club like Tottenham is difficult.
Richarlison has now found a bit of form, and we can only hope that Johnson can follow a similar sort of trajectory.
