‘Has not developed’…Tottenham no closer to sealing £26m transfer despite recent claims

David Ornstein has given an update on Tottenham’s pursuit of Club Brugge winger Antonio Nusa.

Spurs are keen on bringing in the young attacking midfielder and a deal is thought to be close.

Reports yesterday suggested that Nusa was now set on signing for Tottenham. Nusa’s potential move to Tottenham comes after reports broke around a week ago to suggest a move was possible.

However, according to David Ornstein, things haven’t actually progressed quit as much as Spurs would have liked.

Antonio Nusa to Tottenham not quite done

Speaking in his latest Ornstein revealed that while Tottenham are pushing to sign Nusa, as is stands, things haven’t really progressed.

“This one has not developed significantly since last week’s reports, so it’s close but not done. This is a top young player who many other big clubs are also looking at, so Spurs won’t be getting ahead of themselves. A lot of work has clearly gone into it and they’ll hope to get this over the line — but only at a price they deem to be fair. The expectation is any deal would involve Nusa returning to Club Brugges for the rest of this season,” Ornstein .

Nusa will bring another attacking threat to the Spurs squad after they already signed Timo Werner.

Ange Postecoglou also managed to land Radu Dragusin to bolster his defence as well.

A move for Conor Gallagher remains open to discussion, with the Chelsea man constantly linked in recent weeks.

A future star

Signing Antonio Nusa is a big message from Spurs in that they are planning for the future and ensuring they have a constant conveyor belt coming along.

Of course, the is work to do on this one. Nusa hasn’t quite over the line just yet but it does feel like Tottenham are getting down the line on this one.

If and when it is compared, then Tottenham fans can be delighted with what has been a positive January window on the whole.
