‘Has done that’: Micah Richards now makes big claim about what Leeds United man has done since Raphinha left
that Leeds United striker Rodrigo Moreno has stepped up since Raphinha left the club for Barcelona this summer.
Rodrigo put in another excellent display against Chelsea today as he grabbed his fourth goal of the season.
The Spaniard got up to meet a brilliant delivery by Jack Harrison as he headed home Leeds’ second of the afternoon.
Leeds fans may have been worried after losing Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips this summer. But Jesse Marsch’s men thrashed Chelsea 3-0 today and made it two wins out of three games so far.
And former Manchester City defender Micah Richards thinks Rodrigo has risen to the challenge following Raphinha’s move to Barcelona.

Richards makes big claim about Rodrigo
.
He said: “When Raphinha goes, you want someone to step up. Rodrigo has done that.”
Raphinha finished as Leeds’ top goalscorer last season and it seemed like losing him would be a big blow.
But so far, Marsch’s men haven’t missed the Brazilian or Phillips at all. And Rodrigo has certainly stepped up in terms of replacing the goals that Raphinha scored.

The Spain international has now scored four goals in three games this season and is in fine form.
Rodrigo had struggled to make an impact at Elland Road after making the switch from Valencia back in 2020.
But now it seems that the Spaniard has finally found his feet and Howe will be hoping he continues to provide goals in Raphinha’s absence.
It was undoubtedly a big blow for Leeds to lose both Phillips and Raphinha. But it seems the club have got their recruitment spot on.
All of Marsch’s signings are young players that fit perfectly into the way he wants to play Leeds.
