Harvey White puts in display that suggests he’s a future Tottenham Hotspur first-teamer

It is not only Tottenham Hotspur’s first-team doing well in Europe this season. The club’s youngsters are also thriving in the UEFA Youth League. Last night saw Spurs advance to the last 16 of the competition with a 1-0 win over impressive Greek opponents PAOK Salonika.

Brooklyn Lyons-Foster scored the winning goal for Spurs but there was no doubt which player stood head and shoulders above the rest with his display.

Harvey White was outstanding for Tottenham throughout the game. The 17-year-old midfielder controlled and dictated the pace of the game from the heart of midfield. Excellent on the ball and full of energy, his display was the highlight of this fixture. It was a sensational display in front of an imposing 8,000-10,000 vociferous home fans at the Toumba Stadium.

On top of that, his set-piece delivery was absolutely sensational. White was delivering crosses into the box which, at times, were undefendable. Indeed, one such delivery led to the winning goal.

“It is tough to play in this environment but you just have to play through it and take it as a great experience.

“I really enjoyed it, playing in front of probably the biggest crowd that’s ever watched me, so I just tried to take it all on board.”

It is easy to compare youngsters coming through the ranks at Tottenham with others. With that in mind, it is easy to see why Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp comparisons are being made.

However, White looks more like a Christian Eriksen type with his deadly set-plays and can hopefully develop into a similarly talented individual. If he does, then Tottenham have a future first-team star on their hands.
