Harry Souttar opens up on transfer talk amid Tottenham and Everton interest
Harry Souttar has has his say amid Premier League interest.
The Socceroos defender is a standout player for both his country and for Stoke City in the Championship.
Amid plenty of interest from Premier League sides Tottenham and Everton, the centre-back has spoken out.
Whilst on international duty with Australia, where he has six goals in five games, he’s spoken about transfer speculation.
It seems that Souttar is keeping himself grounded.
He’s stated:
“I think it’s just all paper talk to be honest with you.”
“There was a lot of things said but I tend not to try and read it or try and get involved in it at all.”
“We just started in October, the transfer market’s been and gone.”
“My focus right now is solely on the Socceroos and as soon as I get back to club football it’s purely on Stoke City.
“We’re trying to get the club promoted back to the Premier League.”

The 22-year-old also spoke about how much he’s enjoying playing regular football in the Championship.
“All the young lads in the team at Stoke are just relishing playing in front of that sort of atmosphere every week.”
“I can’t really describe it, it’s just amazing.”
“The other night when we won 1-0 against West Brom it was absolutely rocking and nights like that is what we’ve got to strive for.”
This is a player who’s clearly loving life both at club and international level.
However, playing regular football seems to be key to that and there’s no guarantees he’d play every week in the Premier League.
The future is certainly bright for Souttar.
Whether he’s promoted with Stoke or not, he seems destined to one day play in the English top flight.
However, for now it seems he’s happy where he is.
