Harry Redknapp admits Tottenham attacker under Ange Postecoglou ‘doesn’t excite me’

Tottenham showed two sides to themselves on Sunday when they were beaten 3-2 by Brighton.

One thing that can’t be argued is that ꦡAnge Postecoglou de💛livers entertaining football at Tottenham, even if they are on the losing side.

That was proven at the weekend when Spurs took a 2-0 lead, yet still found themselves leaving𓆉 the Amex Stadium empty-handed and heading into the international break with a dark cloud over their heads.

Harry Redknapp made it 💖clear that the London club are ‘such an open team’ and p꧙erhaps something needs to be tweaked.

The former Premier League boss added that Tottenham are going to hav🐼e days when they look ‘fantastic’, but then produce dross of the highest order.

But with💜 this team being so entertaining, it requires the attacking players to have the qualities to impress a🐽nd perform at such a high level, even if they are inconsistent.

You would assume, at the very ✨least, they are🧜 all exciting to watch, but not everyone is.

Whilst Redknapp praised Brennan Johnson for producing the goods in recent weeks, including scoring in six consecutive match☂es, he isn’t too pleased with his mate on the other side.

Timo Werner returned to the Premier League in January on a loan deal from RB Leipzig and Tottenham decided to re-sign him again on a season-long loan in theﷺ summer.

But Redknapp stated ‘he doesn’t excite me’ and he feels Werner isn🐎’t producing the goods♎ in the attacking third, as he told (07/10/24 at 8:15 am).

Timo Werner’s performances for Tottenham

“He (Johnson) has done well, he came in for a little bit of stick 🦄recently,” said Redknapp. “Since then, he has answered the critics with six consecutive goals. It’s been great for him.

“But I am not sure about the boy on the other side (Werner).ꦐ He doesn’t excite me, I must be truthful. If you go through that team, it’s such an open team. They are going to have days where you go ‘oh, how fantastic are they’, but they are going to have halves of games lik𒆙e Brighton where they can’t handle the pressure.”

Timo Werner isn’t proving his doubters wrong

Son Heung-min’s injury for Tottenham has opened the door fo💞r Werner to start more matche💖s and prove his doubters wrong.

But once again, there are moments where the same old Werner from his Ch𒅌elsea days turns up and it doesn’t help his cause.

At the end of the day, he is a loan signing, so it’s not like they have paid big bucks for him like Ch🤪elsea did and proceeded to take a finanꦯcial hit.

Bu༺t if Werner could just improve his final third play, then he would geninuley be a serious threat to many teamౠs across the Premier League.
