Harry Kewell hails the improvement of Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold
Harry Kewell has claimed he’s been majorly impressed by the development of Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and has raved about the player he is now.
The 21-year-old is a product of the Reds academy and in the last few years has gone from unknown to arguably the best right-back in the world.
He’s an attack-minded full-back that has quickly become a main player under manager Jurgen Klopp and is on the cusp of winning his first Premier League title, which follows on from last season’s Champions League win.
Alexander-Arnold has such a big impact going forward for the Merseyside outfit by supplying 14 assists across all competitions so far this season, with 12 of them coming in the Premier League.
The England international provides an excellent delivery into the box from set-pieces and open play, as well as being part of the most formidable defence in the league.
Former Liverpool player Kewell has suggested that Alexander-Arnold’s defensive game has taken strides forward.
“Fantastic player. We looked at hime [when he made his debut] and we knew he had pace, he was a bit slimmer. The one question about Trent was could he defend,”
“He’s done a lot of work off the field where he’s looked at himself he’s gone away. I don’t know what’s happened he’s transformed into a beast.”

TBR’s View:
Alexander-Arnold is such a quality operator from wide areas that many feel he’s going to end up in midfield, but there is no reason for Klopp to move him when he’s this effective.
There is a fascinating battle in England to see who the best right-back option is for the Three Lions and for the levels of his performances during the last two years the Liverpool star has to win it.
Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka may be a better one-on-one defender and Chelsea’s Reece James is a promising talent, but Alexander-Arnold is strong in all areas and has become a top-class operator at Anfield.
