Harry Kane stat shows that Tottenham man is working harder under Nuno
Stats show Kane is working harder under Nuno this season.
The Tottenham striker is one of the Premier League’s best players.
However, it’s been clear for all to see that he’s not been at his best this season after plenty of speculation over the summer.
A move to Manchester City never materialised and Kane has been left at Tottenham.
Many football fans would have expected to see the England skipper down tools, but that hasn’t been the case.
Kane may not have netted yet in the Premier League, but it’s not been for a want of trying.
Indeed, the opposite is true of Kane’s efforts.
Last season saw the striker fall into just the 15th percentile for pressures per 90 when compared against all other Premier League forwards.
That means under Jose Mourinho and then Ryan Mason, Kane wasn’t pressing from the front and pressuring defenders.

Under Nuno this season, though, Kane’s in the 38th percentile for pressures amongst Premier League forwards ().
That’s a significant rise for the 28-year-old who now finds himself pressing more.
Nuno is on the right lines getting Kane pressing too.
Under Mauricio Pochettino, when Kane became the striker he is, pressing was a key part of the system.
The Argentine had Tottenham flying at teams, closing down and making them a side that no one wanted to play against.
Nuno is seemingly trying to do the same by getting his front man pressing again.
If this continues then it will be a matter of time until Kane is back amongst the goals.
If he can lead the press and find himself in dangerous areas then the supporters will quickly be back behind their man.
Despite the failed summer transfer, Kane is still very much one of Tottenham’s own.
Hard work will only endear him to the fans once again and that’s why this stat is so reassuring.
