Harry Kane says Tottenham squad can’t speak high enough of Conte
Harry Kane that taking Tottenham Hotspur back to a level where they are challenging for titles will not happen overnight, but added that the squad cannot speak highly enough of Antonio Conte.
Conte has had a strange tenure at Tottenham so far. There are times when it seems indisputable that Spurs are moving in the right direction. And they remain in the hunt for the top four in the Premier League.

However, Tottenham have not won two games in a row since the turn of the year. And the 3-2 defeat to Manchester United at the weekend dealt a real blow to their hopes of catching Arsenal.
It appears to be particularly important that Tottenham qualify for next year’s Champions League as they look to hold onto Conte and Kane. Clearly, neither will be particularly happy not being involved in Europe’s premier competition next year.

Interestingly, Kane suggested that Tottenham need time, but he did insist that the squad are convinced that Conte is the man to take the club forward.
“He’s building a culture and a way that he wants us to be, to put us back in that place [challenging for titles],” . “But I’ve said before, it’s not just a quick fix that can happen overnight. It takes time, it takes understanding.
“Of course, he’s mentioned he needs to talk with the club and the chairman and see what direction we need to go as a club. But yeah, from my point of view, from the players’ point of view, we can’t speak highly enough of him.”
This season could be defining one for Tottenham amid Conte and Kane concerns
Some Tottenham fans will take encouragement from Kane showing an awareness that the club will need time to get to where they want to go. It suggests that he is looking at the long-term picture.
Perhaps that will be good news as Tottenham look to keep Kane. Obviously however, there is some way to go before the summer transfer window opens. And the striker would hardly admit that he is looking to leave right now.
It does appear to be absolutely imperative that Tottenham put up a major fight to finish fourth. They need to show that they are moving in the right direction.
Conte and Kane may well want proof that Tottenham have that potential before committing to staying beyond this season.
