Harry Kane says he has a word of ‘advice’ for Mathys Tel amid Manchester United and Arsenal links

Before the winter transfer window draws to a close, Mathys Tel has a huge decision on his hands; whether to stay at Bayern Munich or head to the Premier League.

Despite being 19, the youngster seems to have his priorities straight — with Tel reportedly rejecting Tottenham because of their project — not simply being swooned by one of the biggest clubs in the world chasing his signature.

Similarly, Tel had doubts about signing for Chelsea as the Frenchman was unsure whether he would be granted the requisite game time to reach the next level.

Manchester United are ready to sign Tel on loan — with there being space in Ruben Amorim’s squad due to Marcus Rashford’s impending move to Aston Villa on a loan deal. Mathys Tel has the versatility to play across the frontline, making him an intriguing player for any of suitors.

Arsenal are in the hunt to sign Tel as well — considering Aston Villa unwilling to sell Ollie Watkins.

Harry Kane says Mathys Tel must get game time if he joins Man United or Arsenal

Tel could even stay at Bayern if his future remains unresolved before deadline day on Monday.

Tel was excluded from Bayern’s latest squad as Vincent Kompany’s side, who have a nine-point lead over Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the Bundesliga table after played an extra game remain brilliant in his absence.

Harry Kane has advised Tel to pick a club where he gets the necessary playing time to further his career if he does end up departing the Allianz Arena.

Kane said via journalist Julian Buhl: “Mathys is a great young player. I have worked with him for 18 months now. He has a lot of potential, works and likes to train hard. He can still improve but he has the right mindset to do so. Whatever his next step is, the most important thing is that he plays. My advice is that wherever he goes now, he should make sure he gets playing time and experience.”

The former Tottenham striker is a huge fan of Tel, with Kane claiming he is “outstanding” previously. The Englishman will be happy to know that Tel is assessing his options and seems to be giving his future the right amount of thinking time before taking his next step.

Mathys Tel’s agents have told Arsenal he is keen to join them

Tel’s agents have been in talks with Arsenal, with the North Londoners receiving “encouragement” that he is ready to make a move to the Emirates Stadium.

However, the report does mention that Arsenal are yet to hold talks with Bayern Munich over signing the Manchester United target on loan.

Arsenal’s dream type of deal involving Tel is one where there is an option-to-buy in the contract.

As talented as the former Rennes goalscorer is, he is still a young prospect and it is entirely possible that Premier League football takes him by surprise if he jets off to England to advance his career.

With that being the case, the calculated gamble for Arsenal or any club that sign Tel for that matter is to witness where he is at the standard to be deemed as a player they should permanently sign over a matter of a couple of months.
