Harry Kane names Premier League player as best in the world after overlooking Liverpool No.11 Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah has been in remarkable form throughout the 2024/25 campaign so far.

☂The Egypt international has incredibly scored 16 goals and provided 13 assists in just 23 appearances this season – a total most players would be happy with for the entire campaign, let alone half of it.

At the time of writing, the Liverpool No.11’s efforts have helped the Reds sit top of both the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.

However – when voting for FIFA’s The Best award – Harry Kane overlooked Mohamed Salah in favour of a different Premier League player.

Harry Kane snubs Mohamed Salah for Rodri

🔴Sky Sports have revealed how Lionel Messi, Virgil van Dijk, the Bayern Munich No.9 and Salah himself voted in FIFA’s The Best award.

𝕴Interestingly, Kane opted for Rodri – not even putting Salah in his top three as Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior followed in that order.

🌌The Egyptian opted for Vinicius Junior, Rodri and Dani Carvajal – while Messi plumped for Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior respectively.

🐷Van Dijk chose Rodri, Vinicius Junior and Erling Haaland.

Of course, the lack of any major silverware last season hurts Salah – who PSG want🌟 – in these sort of award ceremonies, although it must be remembered that these are individual prizes.

🌳The man from Nagrig scored 25 goals and provided 14 assists in 44 appearances last season, which is more than Vinicius Junior managed in both respects (24 goals and 11 assists in 39 games).

ꦚTherefore, we feel Salah should receive far more mentions than he does when it comes to these individual awards – regardless of what trophies Liverpool win or fail to win.

Liverpool make Mohamed Salah contract progress

Salah, who Pat Nevin likened to Messi📖, will become a free agent in June as things stand, although Liverpool sound close to agreeing a new contract with the 32-year-old.

🔴A story from states that Liverpool have agreed fresh terms with their top scorer, and plan to make an announcement to the public later this month.

𒀰Salah – who said he wanted to stay at Liverpool – will surely be delighted by that news, if true, and it could settle him down enough to fire the Reds towards silverware in 2025.
