Harry Kane’s eight-word reaction to Steven Bergwijn heroics for Spurs v Leicester

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has taken to Twitter to laud Spurs teammate Steven Bergwijn.

The Tottenham winger was the hero of the night as he helped turn an all-but confirmed 2-1 loss into a 3-2 win.

Antonio Conte was on the verge of falling to his first league defeat as Spurs manager.

But Bergwijn, who only came on in the 79th minute, equalised five minutes into stoppage time.

The Netherlands international was on hand to slam home from close range following good work from Matt Doherty.

Just 80 seconds later, Harry Kane put his teammate through on goal.

Bergwijn took the ball around Kasper Schmeichel and scored off the inside of the post.

Arguably one of the most exhilarating finishes to a Premier League game in recent years.

And Kane, who scored Spurs’ first equaliser, couldn’t sing Bergwijn’s praises highly enough.

Tottenham conceded first at the King Power Stadium due to Patson Daka’s 24th-minute effort against the run of play.

Spurs dominated before getting their equaliser on 38 minutes.

Kane weaved through the Foxes defence and confidently slotted home.

However, Leicester struck back midway through the second half.

Substitute Harvey Barnes put James Maddison through on goal and his deflected effort went in off the post.

It looked as though Spurs were set to lose – but the rest, from the 95th minute onwards, is history.

Tottenham’s victory moves them above Arsenal into fifth in the table.

Spurs are now just one point off West Ham in fourth and have three games in hand on the Hammers.
