Habib Diallo’s agent claims Tottenham made January approach

The agent of Metz striker Habib Diallo has admitted the player might leave the club this summer, and claimed an offer arrived for the player from Tottenham Hotspur in January.

Thierno Seydi claims that the Senegal star has been on the radar of Tottenham and an offer in the winter was lodged.

“Already last January, there was an offer from Tottenham.

“Now he has received an exit voucher, and as soon as the European markets open, it should settle down.”

Now, Diallo could leave and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham remain keen.

One thing to consider regarding Seydi, the player’s agent, is that he used to represent Didier Drogba throughout his playing career.

Diallo has been compared in playing style to the Ivorian, who was of course one of Jose Mourinho’s most famed players during his time managing Chelsea.

Like Drogba, Diallo is making a name for himself in French football and now has his eyes on a move to England.

Tottenham are not the only team to have been linked with the player. Leeds United and Chelsea have also been mentioned as keen.

earlier this year, the French side are believed to want a fee in the region of €15 million (£13.5m) for the player, who has scored 12 goals in 27 games this season.

With Tottenham needing a back-up for Harry Kane, a less established name like Diallo might be the best option for Spurs when it comes to bringing in a new player this summer.

Considering the links between Mourinho and the player’s agent, it could be this is a deal Tottenham do pursue in the summer for the right price.
