Habib Diallo struggling for form after links to Tottenham in the summer
During the summer transfer window, striker Habib Diallo was a target for Tottenham Hotspur,
Instead, Spurs chose to sign Carlos Vinicius on loan from Benfica to hand Harry Kane some competition.
Although the Brazilian has yet to really take flight at Tottenham, their decision not to sign Diallo looks like a lucky escape.

The 25-year-old instead signed for Strasbourg for £10 million – a shock, considering plenty of top clubs were reportedly chasing him.
He’s not really done enough so far this season to suggest that Tottenham missed a trick by not trying harder to sign him.
Diallo has scored just twice in eight appearances, with Strasbourg losing three of the four games he has played in.
It was pretty easy to see why Tottenham wanted the striker in the first place.
During 2019/20 he fired 12 goals in 27 appearances and his all-action style of playing up front caught the eye.
Scoring goals seemed to come naturally to the man with four caps and a solitary goal for his country.
This season has been a bit of a struggle, however, and Tottenham won’t exactly be casting an envious eye towards the talisman.
Vinicius has made six appearances for Spurs with just two of those coming in the way of starts.

He registered two assists against LASK in the Europa League, highlighting that his game might be about more than goals.
Last season, Vinicius scored 24 goals and claimed 13 assists for Benfica – showcasing his undoubted talent.
Diallo remains a bit of an enigma and right now, Tottenham must be glad they didn’t take the player from Metz in the summer.
