Gylfi Sigurdsson praises latest display from Everton teammate Richarlison
Everton midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson has given huge praise to teammate Richarlison after his display last night in the win over Southampton.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side recorded back-to-back victories in the Premier League courtesy of a 1-0 result against the Saints at Goodison Park.
The Merseyside club will move into the top four if they win the game in hand on the teams above them, which is a sign of how successful this season has been for them so far.
Sigurdsson gave a special mention to his teammate after Monday’s game.
Richarlison, 23, was the match-winner for the Toffees with his first-half goal, as he rounded the goalkeeper and finished in style after latching onto a pass from Sigurdsson.
The attacker is now on a three-game goalscoring streak in the league and is showing his quality.
“As a striker, you go through spells when you score three in three and five in five but then you might go a few games when you’re not scoring,” Sigurdsson said, as quoted by the
“He just kept going, worked as hard as he’s always done and we knew he that he was going to score goals.”

TBR’s View:
Richarlison has spent a large chunk of his Everton career as a left-winger, but the centre-forward position has suited him in the past couple of weeks.
He worked his socks off alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the final third, constantly chasing down lost causes and being a handful for the opposition’s defenders.
His goal return of 11 in 26 games is decent, but he’ll be striving for more.
