‘I expect him to play’: Sutton thinks GVB is going to start ‘incredible’ Rangers star against Braga tonight

Chris Sutton expects Aaron Ramsey to play a starring role for Rangers in their Europa League clash with Braga tonight.

On Sutton said that the Welshman, who was on the bench for the first leg, when Rangers went down 1-0 in Portugal, should come in.

He also suggested that would go some way to making up for the absence of Alfredo Morelos, who has been sensational for Rangers in European competition.

“I think in the first leg they didn’t show enough attacking intent, they were really poor in the final third,” said Sutton.

“But it’s a tie I think Rangers can win and I think Rangers will go through if they play to the level they are capable of.

“No Aaron Ramsey in the first leg. He was on the bench and Van Bronckhorst didn’t bring him on, but I expect him to play a prominent role tomorrow night.

“They are missing Morelos though and that’s a big deal, he’s European record has been phenomenal for Rangers but I do think it would be a big opportunity missed if Rangers go out to this Braga team.”

Former Arsenal man Sol Campbell has described Ramsey as ‘‘ but we are still waiting for him to show it on a consistent basis in a Gers shirt.

What a night it would be for him to step up to the plate as Rangers look to continue their European adventure at what is sure to be a raucous Ibrox.

It is a deficit which can be turned around, and Rangers really do have a great chance to get into the last four, with tie finely poised.
