‘Gutted’, ‘robbed’: Some Leeds fans can’t believe who’s missed out on Euro 2020 spot

A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to express dismay after finding out that Whites forward Rodrigo hasn’t made the Spain squad for Euro 2020.

The 30-year-old has become a fan favourite at Elland Road after joining Leeds last summer for a club record £30million.

Although Rodrigo’s season has been stop-start amid injury and illness, he enjoyed a superb end to the campaign.

The Spaniard scored four goals and claimed one assist in the Whites’ last four games of the Premier League season to help secure a top-half finish in their first season back in the top flight.

Rodrigo’s recent heroics have seen him earn a nomination for May’s Premier League Player of the Month, testament to how well he’s finished the campaign.

However, Rodrigo won’t get the chance to add to his 25 caps and eight goals for his nation after Luis Enrique opted not to name him in the Roja squad for the Euros.
