Guglielmo Vicario wowed by £26m Tottenham player who’s been working so hard behind the scenes

Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season tour of Asia is now complete following their fifth friendly of the summer on Saturday.

Ange Postecoglou‘s side endured their first defeat of the summer against their toughest opponents yet in Bayern Munich.

Perhaps it was a case of the hard work in the Asian heat having caught up with Tottenham on Saturday but they were not quite at their best.

Nevertheless, it has been a positive summer for the Lilywhites who have really impressed in their games prior to the defeat against the Bundesliga giants.

Having wrapped up their tour of Japan and South Korea, goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has admitted there is one player who has been brilliant so far this summer.

Guglielmo Vicario wowed by £26m Tottenham player

There have been some real standout performances during this summer’s pre-season friendlies for Tottenham.

Some of the young prospects have really shone for the north London side with the likes of Mikey Moore making a real name for himself.

Moore is said to have really impressed during Tottenham training having not allowed the fact he is just 16-years-old hold him back.

But there is one senior player who has also proven his worth over the summer despite having missed a large chunk of the efforts.

Speaking prior to the game in Seoul on Saturday, Vicario told football.london of just how impressive Radu Dragusin has been behind the scenes.

“Radu is a great player, of course, and also he’s a great human being. He’s a hard worker. He did very well for Romania and so I’m very happy for him,” said the Italy international.

“They had a big, big tournament, of course, they were not among the favourites, but they won the group and they had a tough game against the Netherlands.

“So for him it has been a good window and now he is back with us and we are ready all together to try to do our best in the new season.”

Radu Dragusin could start in Premier League opener

The Romanian enjoyed a seriously impressive Euros with his nation with David Moyes waxing lyrical about Dragusin during the tournament.

Dragusin has only just returned to the Tottenham squad following an extended summer break.

The 22-year-old started the game on Saturday against Bayern and came on during the victory on Wedneaday.

But he is now the only natural centre-back the club has available with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven still enjoying their holidays.

Perhaps he will get the nod against Leicester City given he has a week of training in Asia on his main two rivals.
