Guendouzi sends message to ‘no-nonsense’ player right after Arteta terminated his Arsenal contract
Arsenal yesterday that Sead Kolasinac has terminated his contract and has left the club. The Bosnian has joined Marseille on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old, who joined Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal from Schalke in 2017, never quite lived up to the hype. He was viewed by many as the aggressive defender the Gunners were lacking, but despite a great start, he quickly dropped down the pecking order.
Kieran Tierney and Nuno Tavares are competing for the first-choice role at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta at the moment. That made Kolasinac surplus to requirement, and after his failed move last summer, the Bosnian has finally found a club.
Kolasinac has joined ex-Arsenal teammates Matteo Guendouzi and William Saliba at Marseille.
Guendouzi sends message to Kolasinac right after his Arsenal exit
Kolasinac’s move to Marseille materialised very quickly yesterday. Just a few hours after rumours emerged that the Bosnian is in talks with Arsenal to terminate his contract, the Ligue 1 outfit announced his signing.
The 28-year-old, despite his struggles at the Emirates over the last few years, is a decent full-back. He could become a real star in France under Jorge Sampaoli, and he has a few familiar faces in the dressing room as well.
One of them is Guendouzi, who was also pushed out of Arsenal by Arteta. The Frenchman sent a message to Kolasinac on Instagram after his move was announced, along with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Jack Wilshere, Nuno Tavares and Bukayo Saka.
Guendouzi wrote in French: “Bienvenue mon frère,” which translates to ‘Welcome my brother,’ while Aubameyang said: “Bonne chance frero,” which means ‘Good luck bro.”

Kolasinac, , is the latest in a long list of Wenger signings that Arteta has pushed out of Arsenal.
The Bosnian joined Mesut Ozil and Shkodran Mustafi’s lead by having his contract terminated by the club. He could fare a lot better than how his two German pals have since their departure.
It will be interesting to see how Kolasinac settles in at Marseille. Having someone like Guendouzi around will definitely help him and if he gets the freedom he needs to attack on the left flank, he could prove to be an excellent signing for Les Phoceens.
