Grujic speaks about not playing in front of Porto support and Liverpool return
Marko Grujic has claimed that he will return to Liverpool this summer following his loan spell with Porto.
In an interview with , the midfielder claimed he was sorry he couldn’t play in front of the Estadio do Drago faithful.
Liverpool signing the 25-year-old back in 2016 for £5.1m from Red Star Belgrade. However, he’s made just 16 first-team appearances over the last five years.
He’s enjoyed loan spells with Hertha Berlin, Porto and Cardiff City in recent years.
Grujic impressed hugely in Germany with claiming he was ‘by far the best midfielder’ the outfit had in his 22 years at the club. The figure also claimed the Serb has ‘so much potential’.
The Serbian spent last season with the Liga NOS giants, making 39 appearances across all competitions.
When talking about his future, Grujic said: “I’m only sorry that I didn’t play in front of the fans. All my teammates and people in the club say it’s a fantastic atmosphere, but my career is long and I’m sure I’ll have the opportunity to play at the Estádio do Dragão again.”
“I will soon join Liverpool’s preparations, to do that basic part, so we’ll see the next step. We’ll see which club I’m going to play for, I don’t know at the moment, but as for the blue colours, I think I’ve done well in the last three seasons. Of course, it can always be better.”
