Griezmann arrival could open door for Arsenal to prise Malcom from Barcelona
Barcelona have the signing of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, having paid the €120 million buy-out clause. The French attacker has joined the La Liga giants on a five-year deal.
The 28-year-old joins the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele in Barcelona’s attacking contingent. Competition for places amongst this plethora of stars will certainly be high at the Camp Nou next season. One player unlikely to get much of a look in is Malcom.

The 22-year-old only joined the club last summer. However, he struggled to make an impact last season and will likely be moved on this summer to accommodate Griezmann’s arrival. Having spent so much on the 72-cap France international, Barcelona will be keen to sell players they deem surplus to requirements. This may mean that Malcom becomes available for a cut price fee.
Arsenal have previously shown interest in signing the the Brazilian attacker, as reported by the . Now is the time for the Gunners to make good on that interest and make a move for Malcom. Unai Emery is in the market for a winger, and Malcom would certainly be cheaper than Wilfried Zaha.
Malcom would be a fantastic signing for the Gunners and would arrive at the Emirates Stadium with a point to prove. Having been forced out at Barcelona, Arsenal should offer the wide man a fresh start. He has the quality to flourish in the Premier League and is exactly the type of player Arsenal need.
