Rangers have just less than 20 players out on loan at the moment and Steven Gerrard will be keeping his tabs on them. Some of these players will be pushing for first-team spots next season.
Here are three players currently out on loan who could play a part for Rangers next season.
Greg Docherty
With first-team opportunities looking slim, Docherty headed on loan to English League One side Shrewsbury Town last summer.
The ex-Scotland under-21 international has been in sensational form for the Shrews, even prompting Rangers to consider recalling him in January.
With nine goals and 11 assists from central midfield or the right wing, Docherty has proven he is worth a first-team spot next season.
Jordan Rossiter
Rangers let young midfielder Rossiter leave on loan in January with English League Two side Bury winning the race.
The 22-year-old has drawn comparisons with Gerrard in the past but injuries have prevented him from reaching his potential.
However, after a string of classy displays for Bury, the former Liverpool midfielder could step up for Rangers next season if he stays fit.
Ryan Hardie
Hardie scored eight goals in 17 games to fire Livingston to promotion last season and he returned on loan for this campaign.
The 22-year-old has returned with a respectable total of seven goals in 17 matches to help Livingston stay up.
Although he would not be Rangers’ first-choice striker, the Scotland under-21 starlet is a good back-up option to have next season.
Like Hardie, young striker Zak Rudden is impressing on loan. But Rudden is at Falkirk and probably needs a season on loan in the Premiership before his Rangers breakthrough.
