‘Great skill’: Chris Waddle wowed by £21m Newcastle ace in last night’s win over Wolves
Newcastle United icon Chris Waddle praised Magpies ace Miguel Almiron in last night’s 1-0 win over Wolves.
The St James’ Park legend was speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live while commentating on the Premier League clash.
The 28-year-old has struggled for regular stars under Eddie Howe, making the XI just five times since his arrival.

Howe named Almiron on the bench against the Molineux outfit at St James’ Park.
However, an injury to Ryan Fraser early on forced the Newcastle manager’s hand, and he brought Almiron on.
It appeared surprising at first, given the man has often struggled even off the bench under Howe.
The Newcastle boss also overlooked Jacob Murphy and Matt Ritchie in favour of Almiron.
However, it was a great decision as the Paraguay international took his opportunity with both hands.
Almiron delivered arguably one of his best displays since Howe’s arrival.
He was lively as soon as he came on and looked dangerous on the break.
Almiron also weighed in with several chances and played a part in what should’ve been Newcastle’s opener.
His neat back-heel found Bruno Guimaraes in the box, who in turn set up Chris Wood to bundle home.
However, VAR disallowed the goal due to an off-side in the build-up.
Waddle said on BBC Radio 5 Live (): “It was great skill by Almiron.
“We could have done with that going in. It may liven Wolves up!”
In the end, it didn’t cost Newcastle as they went on to win thanks to a Wood penalty in the second half.
A great night for the Tyneside outfit, and Almiron will also be happy with his display.
Depending on the severity of Fraser’s injury, the former Atlanta United ace could be in for an extended run in the XI.
