Grealish posts six-word reaction to 27-year-old Aston Villa man’s display

Jack Grealish was amongst those to comment on the performance of Morgan Sanson on Instagram after the Aston Villa star apologised for his reaction after being taken off against Manchester United on Saturday.

It proved to be a difficult evening for Sanson. He played relatively well until making an error midway through the second-half. And it was punished as Bruno Fernandes went on to double the visitors’ lead.

That proved to be Sanson’s last notable action of the game. He was replaced by Philippe Coutinho the following minute.

Understandably, the Frenchman could not contain his frustration as he came off. He lashed out at the water bottles, sending one over the advertising boards.

It did not appear that his anger was directed at Steven Gerrard’s decision to take him off, but rather the mistake that led to Manchester United going 2-0 up.

Thankfully, Villa were able to get Villa Park rocking. Jacob Ramsey got one back before Coutinho scored the dramatic equaliser on his debut.

Sanson has since sent a classy message on social media, apologising for the reaction. He also lauded his teammates for the comeback they produced…

Several Villa players lauded Sanson. But there was also a message from Grealish, who insisted that he was outstanding while on the pitch…

Morgan Sanson will hope he’s not blown chance to force way into Aston Villa side, despite Grealish praise

Sanson will hope that his performance and reaction after being substituted do not count against him. He has enjoyed a fresh start since Gerrard was appointed. The former Marseille man had not featured once in the Premier League this term before December.

He has now featured against Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea amongst others. His form has been mixed – which is understandable given his lack of game-time.

But there have been positive signs from the 27-year-old, as Grealish outlined in his response on Instagram.
