Graham Roberts sends tongue-in-cheek warning to Tottenham legend Gary Lineker
England striker Harry Kane scored another three goals last night to take his tally to for the Three Lions and edge ever closer to dethroning Wayne Rooney at the top of the charts.
Kane was in blistering form as Gareth Southgate’s men easily saw off Albania at Wembley. Harry Maguire and Jordan Henderson were also involved in the goalscoring as England romped to a 5-0 win.

However, the focus was all on Kane. His ‘perfect’ hat-trick got everyone talking. And in fairness to the striker, it was the perfect way for the Tottenham man to answer the critics of recent weeks.
With eyes now firmly on being the record England goalscorer, Tottenham legend Graham Roberts was quick to pick up on how close Kane now is to another Spurs legend, Gary Lineker.
Lineker hit England goals during his career. And Roberts, taking to , was quick to remind the former Tottenham striker how close Kane is to him.
With a game against San Marino to come, Kane won’t bet against himself eclipsing Lineker in that game. Ranked as the world’s worst international team, the Tottenham ace will definitely be looking to add to his tally.
TBR’s View: Gary Lineker an England legend but Kane is something else
Finishing like last night shows just why Manchester City were willing to pay in excess of £100m for Kane in the summer. You just can’t teach that natural instinct he shows, and he was brilliant.
Now on 44 goals, it looks a certainty he will not only break Linekers’ record, but also go past Wayne Rooney into the 50s. In fact, Kane could end up being far and clear on his own by the next World Cup!
For Tottenham and England, Kane’s form is a huge plus. Antonio Conte, too, will be delighted.
