Graham Roberts urges Gareth Bale to make Tottenham return amid reported talks

Graham Roberts has pleaded with Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale to make a return to Tottenham.

The Welshman left Spurs for the Bernabeu back in 2013 and had a dazzling six-year spell in North London that saw him grow into a superstar.

He’s been a serial winner since his move to Spain and scored 105 goals in 246 appearances for Madrid, but not always been the most popular figure and had to battle alongside high-profile teammates.

Spurs have held talks over a potential swoop in this January transfer window for the 30-year-old.

The report details that they are “pessimistic” over their chances of wrapping up a deal due to the finances it would cost, but have explored the possibility.

His staggering £600,000-a-week wages are the main obstacle right now in any deal and the Premier League side would need to sort a structure that fit all parties.

Roberts has urged Bale to make a fairytale return to former club Spurs and believes he would be adored by supporters.

“How much money does Bale need if he comes back the fans love him and he will enjoy playing again. Come on Gareth come home,”

TBR’s View:

Bale was a serious fan favourite before his exit to Madrid and he would surely be welcomed back with open arms if Spurs did somehow manage to complete a deal for him.

The left-footed dazzler has struggled with injuries during his time at Madrid and never consistently found the kind of form he had in his two seasons before his Spurs exit.

He’s managed just three goals in 15 appearances across all competitions this season, but no doubt he would be an X-factor addition to Jose Mourinho’s squad.
