Graham Roberts reacts to report that Jurgen Klinsmann wants Tottenham job

Jurgen Klinsmann reportedly want to take charge at Tottenham if Mauricio Pochettino does leave, but Graham Roberts has responded by stating that the current boss is going nowhere.

55-year-old Klinsmann would like to return to Spurs as a manager after spending time as a player with the North London club.

Pochettino has seen his side make a poor start to the new campaign, with the Carabao Cup defeat to League Two side Colchester United in midweek the icing on the cake.

The Argentinian boss has been an extremely popular figure during his five years in charge so far at the club and turned them into top four regulars in the Premier League.

But they have won no silverware in that time and another exit from the cup has left fans extremely frustrated.

He is still under contract as manager until 2023 and was backed heavily in the recent summer transfer window, but has been heavily linked with Real Madrid in the past.

Ex-Spurs player Roberts insists that Pochettino won’t be leaving and Klinsmann’s apparent interest means nothing.

“Our manager isn’t going anywhere I would like to manage spurs but that ain’t going to happen get behind Poch he’s been fantastic for our club,”

TBR’s View:

Spurs do have the talent to turn it around under Pochettino and a few victories should silence down any doubters.

But it’s intriguing to think about life after Pochettino and who would be the ideal successor to him.

Any manager would be walking into a club with a brilliant new stadium and excellent support, while they also possess a quality squad.

Klinsmann would be a high-profiel appointment after previously taking charge of Germany, USA and also Bayern Munich, but he’s been out of work since 2016.
