Mikel Arteta’s men played some nice football, with Tottenham deploying a low block to try and keep the visitors at bay.

The game was finely balanced towards the end, but Son’s perfect corner was turned in by the head of Alderweireld.

That proved to be the winner, and it’s now six home games unbeaten for Spurs against Arsenal.

Some on social media argued Spurs were perhaps undeserving of maximum points, but that wasn’t how Graham Roberts saw it.

The club’s former defender said on Twitter: “Not been a good season but not losing to that lot is a bloody must. Proud of the boys today with two days less rest. @AlderweireldTob, Sonny and @MoussaSissoko superb today. Also @daosanchez26 excellent.”

TBR’s View – Sanchez shines again

Son contributed a vital goal and assist for Spurs to take the points and is grabbing most of the headlines, but it was another strong showing from Sanchez at the back.

The Colombian defender – who cost £42 million three years ago () – has started the majority of matches since Mourinho’s arrival in December, and he was virtually faultless against Arsenal. and right came in for praise from Roberts and other Spurs supporters.

It’s been a turbulent campaign for the north London side, but the South American is one of few who can lay claim to having been a quietly consistent performer.

The team has needed someone to replace Jan Vertonghen, whose Tottenham career appears to be drawing to a close, and Sanchez has definitely stepped up.
