Graham Roberts predicts six Tottenham players to start against Liverpool
Graham Roberts has predicted six Tottenham Hotspur players to start against Liverpool in Saturday’s Champions League final,
Mauricio Pochettino is set to welcome back a number of injured players, the main player being Harry Kane who has trained ahead of the final. Harry Winks, Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez are also said to be in contention.
It leaves Pochettino spoilt with choice. Many have discussed whether he should bring Kane back into the starting line-up, or use him off the bench after Spurs beat Manchester City and Ajax without the England captain.
Spurs legend Roberts believes Pochettino will choose Kane to start against Jurgen Klopp’s side, but also include attackers Lucas Moura, Dele Alli and Son Heung-min – meaning Christian Eriksen will play deeper in midfield.

“I think the manager might play all four of them up there, Kane up front then Son, Moura and Alli behind and Eriksen and Sissoko in midfield,” “I don’t know what he is going to do, but he has a lot of options.”
TBR’s view
The difficulty for Pochettino is whether he should drop Moura. The Brazilian scored a hat-trick against Ajax in the semi-final to produce one of the best ever Champions League final comebacks to date.
But many would argue that Spurs’ best line-up is Son, Eriksen and Alli behind Kane. That leaves no space for Moura, and the north Londoners can play more conservatively with two holding midfielders.
Roberts may have found a way to incorporate all of them, but it remains to be seen if Pochettino believes he can trust Eriksen in a more defensive role.
