Graham Roberts posts Cristian Romero verdict that Tottenham fans will love
Graham Roberts has delivered his verdict on Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero on Twitter – after Spurs edged past Burnley on Wednesday.
Romero, 23, is growing with every game in English football – after his big-money £50million move from Atalanta in the summer.
The Copa America winner started his 10th appearance for Tottenham. The Argentina international kept a clean sheet, as Spurs beat Burnley 1-0.
A tough clash away at Turf Moor, Tottenham came into the game with some poor form. They lost to Vitesse and then West Ham United on Sunday.
But Romero produced a wonderful display to help Spurs see off the challenge of physical Burnley – dealing with four different strikers.
Reacting to his near-impeccable performance, Roberts singled out Romero for his brilliant performance – telling fans that he will not be messed with.
Roberts on Romero: Tottenham star getting better and better
Romero has been sensational for Spurs so far – but what will excite fans, is that he is improving with every display. He was near perfect tonight.
That is, despite coming up against a Burnley side at Turf Moor. He faced Jay Rodriguez, Matej Vydra, Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes throughout.
He was sturdy against the initial duo and then man-handled Wood – when marking the ex-Leeds man for 30 minutes. Dominant.
It was a performance that will instill confidence in Tottenham fans – furthered by the verdict on Twitter from Roberts, on Romero.
