Graham Roberts lauds three Tottenham players after Aston Villa win
Graham Roberts has taken to Twitter to laud three Tottenham Hotspur players following the win over Aston Villa – with Cristian Romero receiving particular praise.
What’s the story?
Spurs have got back to winning ways to relieve some of the pressure on the shoulders of Nuno Espirito Santo.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and a Matt Targett own goal gave Tottenham the three points against the Villans.
It was a much-needed display heading into the international break with Spurs losing their previous three league games.

And it was particularly encouraging with two of their new signings producing superb performances.
Romero was colossal at the back for Tottenham. Meanwhile, plenty of Spurs fans have heaped praise on Emerson Royal on social media following the game.
And of course, Son Heung-min continues to rival Harry Kane for being Tottenham’s talisman as he had a clear role in both of Spurs’ goals.
And following the game, Roberts lauded the trio, with Romero seemingly seen as the standout performer for the home side…
Fantastic win what a player we have in wow proper player and amazing today COYS. Well done sonny as well snd the team. we needed that 🙏

Romero and Royal show what they will bring to Tottenham in Aston Villa win
One of the many criticisms of Nuno after the North London derby came from the decision to leave all of the club’s summer signings out of the starting lineup.
Romero and Royal came in on Sunday. And they perhaps showed why Nuno was wrong to leave them out against Arsenal.
They were both excellent against the Villans. And the fans will be hoping that they can kick on from here.
If they can, Spurs could well have two more hugely impressive performers in their ranks.
