Graham Roberts hammers one Tottenham man on Twitter after West Ham come back

Tottenham Hotspur fans were fuming on social media after their side surrendered a 3-0 lead in the last 10 minutes to draw 3-3 with London rivals West Ham United – and Spurs icon Graham Roberts has hammered defender Serge Aurier.

Spurs controlled and dominated the initial 80 minutes, with Jose Mourinho’s side scoring all three goals in the first twenty minutes. Harry Kane netted a brace, while providing an excellent assist for Son Heung-min’s opener.

Mourinho’s men looked as though they were going to see out the match and claim all three points – with Kane hitting the post and Gareth Bale missing a great chance. But West Ham came roaring back. A Fabian Balbuena header kicked things off.

Davinson Sanchez scored an own goal before Manuel Lanzini scored a stunning effort in injury time to equalise. Aurier was guilty of conceding a free-kick prior to Lanzini’s goal, and Roberts hammered the £70,000-a-week () defender on Twitter.

TBR’s view – Aurier or Doherty?

Starting Aurier gives Tottenham a better attacking outlet from the right flank, allowing to push whoever is playing ahead of Aurier inside – which hands Spurs another attacker in the penalty area. But defensively, he is a liability.

Matt Doherty is slightly better when it comes to defending but perhaps lacks the pace and attacking tenacity of Aurier. It will be interesting to see who plays next time out for Spurs, when they play host to LASK on Thursday in the Europa League.
