Graham Roberts dishes out praise for Tottenham stars on Twitter after City win

Tottenham Hotspur are top of the Premier League, after a brilliant victory over Manchester City on Saturday.

The north London side ran out 2-0 victors, with Jose Mourinho recording two straight wins over Pep Guardiola for the first time in his career.

Heung-min Son and Giovani Lo Celso got the goals for the hosts, with Harry Kane producing yet another sensational all-action display.

City had the lion’s share of possession, but were unable to break down a resolute Spurs, who were clinical when they needed to be.

It was a brilliant plan from Mourinho which his players executed to perfection, and there will be real optimism from fans about the current state of play.

There were some exceptional individual performances, and Spurs legend Graham Roberts picked out no fewer than six players for praise after the game.

There is a long way to go in 2020/21, but things are looking very good for Spurs.

In Heung-min Son and Kane the team have a couple of superstars, and the supporting cast is packed with quality.

And then there is the manager Mourinho, and one gets the feeling that he has fire in his belly.

He’s had a year with the team now, and they are certainly not to be bet against.
