Graham Roberts and Gary Lineker issue Twitter reactions to Tottenham incident
Gary Lineker and Graham Roberts have both looked to play down the incident between Tottenham Hotspur stars Son Heung-min and Hugo Lloris during Spurs’ 1-0 win over Everton on Monday night.
Spurs picked up a crucial three points as Michael Keane inadvertently deflected an effort from Gio Lo Celso into the back of the net midway through the first half. It was the only goal of the game.
The game’s most intriguing incident, though, came just after the half-time whistle as the players made their way to the tunnel. A fuming Lloris charged towards Son, who had failed to track back moments before.
He angrily confronted Son. Shouting, pointing the finger and pushing the South Korean, Lloris made his point in the public eye – and both Lineker and Roberts have reacted on Twitter to the incident, playing it down.
Jesus sky making a huge deal out of a small disagreement on pitch honestly happens every single training session when I played. 🤦♂️

Good heavens, Son and Lloris having to be kept apart. Of all the players out there who might want to scrap, I wouldn’t have picked those two. Shows they care, I suppose.

TBR’s view – Passion? Or a lack of harmony in the camp?
Things have certainly gone stale at Tottenham. Mauricio Pochettino remained in charge too long, no new signings were made. Doubt creeped in, and now they are struggling to qualify for the Europa League.
So, the senior players of the team will certainly be frustrated. Hugo Lloris won the World Cup in 2018 and got to the Champions League final in 2019, he will be more frustrated than any – not least because he is the captain.
But his act of criticism towards Son is nothing more than passion and setting a standard as a captain to make sure things are done properly. Jose Mourinho was right, you get nothing for winning a Fairplay Award.
