Graham Roberts agrees with Alasdair Gold suggestion, after Tottenham make Gennaro Gattuso decision

Tottenham Hotspur legend Graham Roberts has agreed with Alasdair Gold’s suggestion of the next manager Daniel Levy should target. Following a move to get Paulo Fonseca broke down this week, Gennaro Gattuso was identified – but that has also ended. Gold wants Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag.

It is claimed that financial obstacles prevented Fonseca from completing a move to Tottenham. It would have seen Jose Mourinho and Fonseca swap jobs. But a move fell through, and Gattuso was eyed as the next man – . Who do they go after now?

Well, Football London reporter Gold claimed that he believes Ten Hag should be the man Spurs go after – and always wanted the Dutchman. Spurs icon Roberts agrees with Gold, telling his Twitter following that Ten Hag would be good for the club’s young players. Time will tell.

Ten Hag is the man Tottenham should have got all along – following Gold and Roberts comments

The Dutchman allows his attackers to play with freedom. While his expansive style would require Daniel Levy to fork out on some more reliable defenders, it would surely tempt Harry Kane – and even Gareth Bale – into maybe sticking around for another season.

A title winner, Ten Hag is the typical kind of Ajax manager one would expect. Jose Mourinho’s reign ended because Levy was concerned what Spurs fans would think when they returned to the stadium. That would not be an issue with Ten Hag.
