Graham Potter drops hint over Leeds loanee Ben White’s future
Graham Potter has lauded Marcelo Bielsa, but his comments on Ben White – – appear to have included a hint that may prove to be bad news for Leeds United.
The Championship leaders have taken White on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion this season. And the 22-year-old has been a revelation at the heart of United’s defence.

Leeds boast the best defensive record in the division. And White has started every single league game for the club.
Should the club secure promotion, it would be no surprise to see Leeds make a move to try and sign the defender on a permanent basis when the transfer window opens.
But, when asked about White recently moving into midfield to cover for when Kalvin Phillips has been absent, Seagulls boss Potter seemed to provide an insight into where he expects the youngster to be next season.

“It’s not surprised me because he’s got those type of qualities,” he said, , when asked about White playing slightly further forward.
“He’s mobile and good on the ball and is in the hands of a very good coach in Marcelo Bielsa. Whatever he decides for Ben is fine by me.
“I’ve been aware of his progress since he was [on loan] at Newport County and I wanted to sign him when I was in charge at Swansea City.
“I’m delighted with the experience he’s had so far this season with Leeds and we’re looking forward to working with him in the future.”
TBR View – Leeds’s hopes not dashed completely, but signing White permanently will be tough
Of course, Brighton may still decide to review White’s situation in the summer. They boast a lot of depth at the back, and every player has their price. And Potter would hardly disclose that he was open to letting him go right now even if that was an option.
But it does appear that Potter has confirmed that White is in his plans next season.
Many of the Elland Road faithful however, will be imploring the club to pay whatever it takes to keep hold of White if they go up. in December that he could command a fee of around £25 million.
He has arguably been one of the club’s best signings during their time out of the Premier League.
And if they go up, they will surely hope that they can make him one of their first additions upon their return to English football’s top table.
