Graham Potter delighted with Brighton star Ben White’s progress at Leeds
that he is delighted with the progress of defender Ben White who is shining on loan at Leeds United in the Championship.
White, 22, has played every single minute of Leeds’ Championship campaign this season – starting and finishing all 16 league games. He is has been crucial in handing Leeds the best defensive record of the division, conceding just nine times.
he is worth £20million and that is testament to his performances for Leeds. Many Whites supporters have forgotten the at-the-time depressing loss of Pontus Jansson, purely because of White’s performances alongside Liam Cooper.
Reports have suggested that White has now played the required number of games to prevent Brighton from recalling him in January, and Potter has heaped praise on the defender. He has a contract at Brighton until the summer of 2022.

“The feedback about Ben has been really good, and we’re happy with how he’s done so far,” . “It’s really good for him and Leeds United too, because it shows that the loan has worked well for everybody.
“He was a player that was really after first-team football and he’s got that opportunity there. Of course he’s still our player, but we’re happy that he’s having a good experience and getting better all the time, so we’re delighted.”
TBR’s view – Do Leeds have any chance of signing White permanently?
White’s situation and Leeds chances mirrors that of Tyrone Mings at Aston Villa last season. Mings was on loan from Bournemouth and shone for Villa in the Championship – helping them gain promotion.
Though expected to return to Bournemouth, Villa splashed out £26.5million to sign him. If Leeds are to get White beyond the end of the season, they need to gain promotion to the Premier League – and be willing to spend big.
