Graeme Souness thinks he’s spotted a sign that Trent Alexander-Arnold is going to leave Liverpool

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool future is up in the air.

The England international is in the final year of his Liverpool contract, and Alexander-Arnold has been linked to Real Madrid.

Of course, Liverpool supporters will be hoping Alexander-Arnold stays at the club for the rest of his career, but Graeme Souness believes the right-back could be on his way out.

Indeed, speaking on , Souness stated that he thinks Arne Slot is now bedding in Conor Bradley to replace Alexander-Arnold.

Souness’ theory is that Alexander-Arnold has already told Liverpool his plans, and in order to prepare, Slot is starting to use Bradley more and more.

Graeme Souness thinks Trent Alexander-Arnold is going

The pundit shared his theory on Alexander-Arnold.

“I think, and this is just a guess, he’s mates with Bellingham and he would be tailor-made to Real Madrid. He could end up at Real Madrid. I think that message may have been relayed to Liverpool, he’s introduced Bradley both last week and this week, and by the way, he’s proper,” Souness said.

“I’m saying that maybe he has made up his mind and that has been relayed to the hierarchy at Liverpool. He’s giving Bradley chances and keeping him onside, he’s having a good look at Bradley. That would be forward-planning.”

Liverpool can’t lose Alexander-Arnold

It would be nothing short of a disaster if Liverpool lost Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid.

Not only would Liverpool be losing a homegrown fan favourite, they’d be losing one of the best players in the world on a free transfer.

Of course, you can’t begrudge any player for wanting to join a team like Real Madrid, but losing a player who is as valuable as Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer would be disastrous.

Liverpool need to do all they can to keep Alexander-Arnold, and if he wants to join Real Madrid in the future, the Reds need to get a great transfer fee.
