Graeme Souness slams Spurs star over Arsenal goal
Graeme Souness has slammed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on for the way that the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder jogged back towards his own goal in the build-up to Arsenal’s opener in the North London Derby.
What’s the story?
Spurs now need to pick up the pieces after suffering a third successive Premier League loss.

Of course, none will hurt more than this as they were blown away at the Emirates by their bitter rivals.
Tottenham found themselves 3-0 down at the break. And while they would get one back, Nuno Espirito Santo is now set to face plenty of questions about his future if their fortunes do not turn around quickly.
Arsenal looked up for the game from the very first minute. Spurs meanwhile, struggled to lay a glove on the Gunners.

And perhaps no moment epitomised that better than when Bukayo Saka found Emile Smith Rowe unmarked inside the penalty area for the opening goal.
The Spurs defence struggled to stay with their men. But they were not helped by a lacklustre effort from the midfield.
And no player infuriated Souness more, it seems, than Hojbjerg who was beaten to the ball by Granit Xhaka in the middle of the park, and went on to amble back towards goal.
“Watch Hojbjerg now sprint…I don’t think,” .
“Look, he’s jogging, look. Still jogging [as Saka gets ready to cross the ball for Smith Rowe]. Moura runs past him. No, no.”
Hojbjerg coming in for a lot of criticism as Tottenham toil
It is not the first time Souness has picked out Hojbjerg following a goal that Tottenham have conceded.
Hojbjerg has previously been one of Spurs’ best players. He is arguably one of the few success stories from Jose Mourinho’s tenure.
But nothing is going to undo all of a player’s hard work quite like an error in an abject North London Derby performance.
