Graeme Souness says Myles Lewis-Skelly ‘needs to wind his neck in’

Graeme Souness has confirmed he likes Myles Lewis-Skelly, saying he’s a fan of his attitude and backing him to become a “real player”♔.

Indeed, the pundit says he likes people with attitude in all walks🐻 of life, not just football.

However, Souness suggests he was not impressed by Lewis-Skelly’s goal celebration poking fun at Erling Haaland in Arsenal’s 5-1 win𒅌 over Man City.

“I like Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly,ඣ” Souness wrote in the . “Attitude is oozing out of him and it’s why I think he’s going to be a real player.

“He put in a strong performance during Arsenal’s 5-1 defeat of Manchester City last weekend which included him mimicking Erling Haalan💫d’s goal celebration after extending his team’s lead.

“I love attitude in all walks of life – an💟d notꦏ just in the football world. People who go out there and say: ‘This is me. I’m going to do this.’ I like to see players who have b——-, too.

ไ“But I have to say, having s🐓een that celebration, I think he needs to wind his neck in.

“At 1ꦦ8, it’s a bit early to be going down the road of mimicking a player like Haaland, someone who’s achieved great things 💧in our league.

“Wait till you’ve won a few things in our game, son. Just g꧂ive🍰 it a few years. Listen and learn every day until then.

“Know that someone so young going down that roa🌱d is not a good look.”

Rio Ferdinand’s counter-argument

An argument t🃏hat often do♐es the rounds online is that footballers these days aren’t characters like they used to be back in the day.

However, the minute a football player actually starts showing s൩ome personality, some people start saying they’re bein♔g disrespectful and so on and so forth.

Indeed, the Prಞemier League authorities now seemingly want to crack down on celebrations that could be deemed inflamm🧔atory.

Rio Ferdinand defended Lewis-Skell🅘y in facꦉe of criticism from the likes of Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville.

“I saw Gary Neville say it’s [Lewis-Skelly’s celebration] disrespe🍨ctful,” he sꦬaid on Five.

“Bro, some of the biggest, m🍒ost iconic moments in Premier League history aren’t about footbalꦜl.

“Roy Keane in the tunnel with Vieira. 🍸Martin Keown with Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Adebayor running to the Arsenal fans. Me slapping Mr B🍬ennett.

“Come on man. Gary Neville, one of his biggest moments was doin🌞g that ♏[grabbing the Manchester United badge] to Liverpool fans after my goal.”
