Graeme Souness says Tottenham have a player he really likes who reminds him of Jude Bellingham
Graeme Souness has named the Tottenham Hotspur player he really likes who he would actually suggest is similar to Jude Bellingham.
Jude Bellingham is undoubtedly o🐟ne of the best footballers on the planet right now. The 20-year-old is a key man for ꧂both Real Madrid and England. And it is scary to think about the levels he could reach in the future.
So it says something that Graeme Souness believes that Tꦇottenham have a similar player in their ranks.
Graeme Souness compares James Maddison with Jude Bellingham
Souness was speaking on and was asked about James Maddison and whether he likes the Spurs summer signing.
“Enormously, I think if you look at his numbers, that number 10, getting on the ball on the half turns, slipping passes in, getting goals, his numbers are better than a﷽nyone else. For me, I’ve said they should use him in the England team,” he said.
Maddison has taken some time to find his way into the Three Lions squad. It is almost easy to forget now that he did not෴ play a single minute at last year’s World Cup.
Someon✱e who did have a key role in Qatar was Bellingham. And as Soꦡuness explained just how much of a fan of the former Birmingham City starlet he is, he suggested that Maddison may have some similar characteristics.
“I was doing the Scotland England game at Hampden when England absolutely 🤡bullied Scotland off the park wꦓithout a fight coming back in the other direction, majorly disappointing for me, but I was on the halfway line in the build-up to the game, so I was maybe 30, 40 feet from Jude Bellingham. He’s a giant. His proportions are perfect. He’s a great specimen as an athlete. And he’s just a fabulous player who’s just a star already at 20, playing at the highest level, playing under enormous pressure to produce goods at Real Madrid, which he’s done in spades so far. He’s fulfilled everything that’s been asked of him. And he’d be difficult to play against, because he just wants to run into the box, arriving late. And he’s got the strength to just push you out the way.
“🏅He’s a goalscoring midfield player. But I see Maddison being similar to him🃏.”

It is a huge claim to suggest that Maddison is similar to Bellingham. But the 27-year-old has definitely had a massive impact on Tottenham since his move in the summer.ไ
Maddison was arguably the Premier League’s best player in the opening weeks of the cam𒅌paign. And his performanc♕es helped put Spurs at the top 🅘of the table.
It is a huge boost that he is now back from injury. Maddison made his return for A🅠nge Postecoglou’s side in their FA Cup tie with Manchester City on Friday night.
If Maddison stays fit for the rest of the campaign, then Tott🥂enham have an outstanding chance of achieving something🗹 special this year.
